GoldRiver Orchards has been growing walnuts in California since 1912 and eventually integrated the farming business to processing and marketing in 2003. The brand is sold in more than 25 international markets on six continents, selling shelled and unshelled walnuts of premium quality. In June 2013, GoldRiver moved into their HACCP-certified, 104,000 square foot facility in Escalon, California designed for maximum efficiency and quality.
GoldRiver Orchards processes a substantial flow of walnuts requiring detailed visibility through various stages of sorting and grading. Managing sales, which are mostly make-to-order, requires knowledge of what the company has in raw materials, works-in-process, and finished goods at any given time.
The challenge that GoldRiver faced with its operation was the inability to automate reporting. Reports would be generated four to five times per day which caused inefficiencies and the manual labor required resulted in high labor costs. ParityFactory supported GoldRiver Orchards in automating inventory control which provided instant, real-time data and increased accuracy and speed.
